Fizioterapija is a national scientific and professional journal which publishes articles from all fields of physiotherapy (musculoskeletal physiotherapy, manual therapy, neurophysiotherapy, cardio-respiratory physiotherapy, physiotherapy in women’s health, physiotherapy in geriatrics and other), including the role of physiotherapists in health promotion, prevention, treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation. It also publishes articles from a broader area of human physical activity and functioning, as well as disability and health in areas of pain. The journal also aims at promoting interdisciplinary approach in patients and healthy people, which is reflected in closer collaboration with practitioners and scholars from other disciplines. The journal’s audience are primarily physiotherapists, but also other health-care professionals and broader public, who are interested in development of physiotherapy, its effectiveness, standardised measurement tools and clinical guidelines and recommendations in the field.
The Fizioterapija journal was founded in 1992. It publishes original and previously unpublished work only. The content is organized in sections of Original articles, Review articles, Case reports, Commentaries and Professional articles. The articles are peer-reviewed in an anonymous process. The journal is published biannually with occasional addition of supplement issues. Fizioterapija is an open-access journal. The cost of printed edition is included in the membership fee of Slovenian Association of Physiotherapists.
